Gabriel O’Hara Salini

Gabriel O’Hara Salini is a Peruvian journalist currently working in the Boston area, having previously worked as the legal correspondent for Diario Gestion in Lima, Peru, for 4 years. Gabriel has a degree in law from Universidad de Lima and specializes in reporting on legal issues, such as new bills, shifts in the labor market, how new proposals affect businesses and political initiatives that affect vulnerable groups.

In 2022, Gabriel O’Hara broke the news that the Peruvian government planned to restrict subcontracting, leading to numerous lawsuits against the state and the project to be ultimately abandoned. During his career, he interviewed ministers of labor, the president of SUNAT, Sunafil and INDECOPI, among other high-ranking officials.

He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Journalism at Boston University, where he has worked on projects published in the Boston Business Journal, WBUR and other local outlets.
